How it works…
Understand how this work helps you move through life transitions with greater clarity and confidence.
The Approach
This one-to-one work uses an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing on a range of methods that work with both the conscious and subconscious mind.
Rather than focusing only on talking through and analysing problems, the process helps settle inner tension, quiet overthinking and begin shifting the deeper patterns that shape how you think, feel and respond to life.
Through Solution-Focused Psychotherapy, alongside approaches such as hypnotherapy, EFT and other mind-body practices, we begin to release limiting beliefs, regulate the nervous system and create new patterns that support clarity, confidence and emotional steadiness.
What does “Solution-Focused” mean?
Unlike traditional talking therapy, which often involves digging into the past or talking about your current issues or problems, “solution-focused” psychotherapy is all about what’s going well, what you want to be different, and the small, manageable steps to get you there.
This approach is practical, collaborative and empowering. The focus is on your strengths, your progress, and helping you build the life you want to move towards.
How does the deeper change happen?
Many of the emotional responses and behaviours that shape our lives are driven by subconscious patterns formed earlier in life.
Approaches such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and mind-body techniques allow us to access and update these patterns at their root.
By gently working with the subconscious mind and the nervous system, it becomes possible to release limiting beliefs, shift emotional responses and create new, more supportive ways of thinking and responding.
What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often known as tapping, is a gentle therapeutic method that helps release emotional stress and limiting beliefs held in the mind and body.
It involves lightly tapping on specific acupressure points while bringing attention to a thought, feeling or memory that may be creating tension. This process helps calm the nervous system and reduces the emotional intensity linked to those experiences.
EFT works by combining elements of modern psychology with principles from acupuncture, supporting the brain to update old emotional patterns and respond to situations with greater ease and clarity.
In my work, EFT is often used alongside therapeutic conversation and hypnotherapy to help shift deeply rooted patterns and support lasting emotional change.
Supporting the mind-body connection
The mind and body are closely connected. When the nervous system is under constant stress, the brain tends to repeat familiar patterns of thinking and reacting, even when those patterns are no longer helpful.
Mind-body practices such as Reiki and breathwork help calm the nervous system and reduce this heightened stress response. As the body settles, the mind becomes more receptive to updating beliefs, processing emotions and developing healthier ways of responding to life.
This creates the internal conditions needed for emotional balance, clearer thinking and lasting change.
Why These Approaches Work Well Together
Solution-focused therapy helps bring clarity to what you want to move towards. It focuses on identifying what is already working, setting clear goals and building confidence in the steps that move you forward.
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind. During hypnosis you enter a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation, similar to being absorbed in a book or daydream. In this calm state the mind becomes more receptive to new perspectives, making it easier for helpful patterns of thinking and behaviour to develop.
Other approaches used within the process, such as EFT and memory reconsolidation techniques, help update the emotional responses and limiting beliefs that may be holding patterns in place.
Together, these approaches support both conscious insight and deeper internal change.
Over time this allows new neural pathways to form in the brain, gradually shifting the patterns of thinking and responding that shape how you experience life.
